HEAD DOWN TO SHAH ALAM CONVENTION CENTRE FOR GREAT ‘MAPEX 2017’ DEALS THIS WEEKEND
The Shah Alam Convention Center (SACC) in Selangor will host the first collaborative property expo between The Real Estate and Housing Developers Association Malaysia (Rehda) and the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
The scope of Rehda’s popular Malaysian Property Expo (Mapex) has been expanded in this leg of the annual series of property exhibitions with the inclusion of an the Affordable Housing Carnival (or KPMM) theme and outlook.
The carnival, which will run from today till Aug13, focuses mainly on affordable housing that is priced below RM500,000. The joint initiative, said Rehda, is in line with the government’s objective of promoting home ownership and easy access to affordable houses in the market.
“Rehda is pleased to be working with the Ministry in organising the KPMM-MAPEX as part of our efforts to encourage home ownership,” said Mapex 2017 organising committee chairman Datuk Ng Seing Liong.
“The previous expos organised by Rehda were mostly just showcasing houses by private developers, but through this strategic partnership, there [are now] more state governments taking part to offer more affordable homes,” Ng added.
In addition to offering affordable houses from the Klang Valley, KPMM-MAPEX also promotes a selection of units located in other states, including Malacca, Kedah, Perak, Pahang, Penang and Kelantan.
There is also a wide variety of property options from the open market, with attractive promotions such as Bumiputera discounts and purchase rebates by participating developers among others.
Ng said that Rehda is confident that with the strong support of the government, its agencies, private developers and the public, this weekend’s property carnival will be able to achieve its objective of providing an ideal platform for buyers seeking their dream homes.
“Over 5,000 properties of various types with a total value of RM5 billion will be offered at KPMM-MAPEX. To facilitate buyers with housing loan information, the carnival will also be participated by financial institutions, namely Maybank and Bank Simpanan Nasional,” he said.
“I hope more financial institutions will be participating in expos like this to enable buyers make comparison on housing loan products that best suit their financing capability,” he added.
Among the 40 participants at the expo are Glomac Bhd, IJM Land Bhd, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), Kota Kelang Development Sdn Bhd, Setia Ecohill Sdn Hill, UEM Sunrise Bhd, Mitraland Group, Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd and various government agencies under the National Housing Department such as the Lembaga Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor (LPHS) offering Rumah Selangorku and Federal Territories Ministry (KWP) promoting RUMAWIP.
The three-day carnival also offers some RM50,000 in cash rebates to selected homeowners (terms and conditions apply).
Today’s launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Noh bin Haji Omar, the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government.
Visitors can also engage in various exciting activities designed for the whole family, such as colouring contests for children, board games, cakes and cookie decorations sand art, henna art and balloon sculpture courtesy of the resident clown.
Food-wise, there will be ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy giveaways, as well as food trucks made available for meals.
The event is also designed to be information-rich and property investors will be given talks and financing tips from well-known industry experts such as Ieza Yusof, Dr Azizul Azli Ahmad, En Ahyat Ishak and En Aziz Ahmad. These talks will be held on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
