If you still think the private and government sectors should make a more concerted effort to provide affordable housing to the masses, then the latest Malaysia Property Expo (Mapex) from Aug 11 – 13 will hold a special surprise for you.

The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) Malaysia and Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will be teaming up to offer a three-day Affordable Housing Carnival (KPMM) at the Shah Alam Convention Centre in Selangor.

Mapex is an annual series of nationwide property expos organised by Rehda, but this latest endeavour is made particularly significant by KPMM and its joint effort with KPKT.

Rehda is honored to work with KPKT in organising this carnival as part of our efforts to encourage home ownership, says Ng.

Those who have followed the development and construction industry closely over the past few decades will know that Rehda and KPKT are sometimes at loggerheads over various issues impacting the market. However, both the ministry and the association have long-asserted they have the best interest of the industry at heart, and the combined effort to improve access to affordable homes is certainly a clear indication of that.

Themed “Rumah Mampu Milik Sempurna, Rakyat Sejahtera”, the housing carnival hopes to cater house buyers’ needs by gathering an array of affordable housing options under one roof. Aslo made available are mid-priced properties that are currently offering attractive discounts and promotions.

Rehda is honored to work with KPKT in organising this carnival as part of our efforts to encourage home ownership and it is our pleasure to share with you that the Prime Minister, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, as well as Minister to the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Noh bin Omar, have been invited to grace the carnival,” said Mapex committee chairman Datuk Ng Seing Liong.

Apart from offering a wide range of properties with attractive promotions, Ng said the special edition housing carnival also focuses on showcasing affordable houses priced below RM500,000 mark, which is expected to be the main attraction.

“Properties with special Bumiputera discounts will also be showcased during the carnival. For those who are looking for their dream homes, take the opportunity to visit KPMM-MAPEX as there will be wide selection of properties available with prices that might suit your budget,” Ng added.

Prime Minister Najib (left) and KPKT minister Noh (right) are expected as guests of honour.

He said Rehda is confident that with tremendous support from developers, government agencies and financial institutions, MAPEX will continue to be the right platform to connect buyers with their housing aspirations.

“We are anticipating more than 60 developers and government agencies as well as financial institutions to take part in this carnival. I urge those who are interested to participate to act fast as choice booths are limited,” Ng said.

Among the developers that will be participating are Glomac Berhad, IJM Land Berhad, MKH Berhad, UEM Sunrise Berhad, Mitraland Group, Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad and several agencies under the National Housing Department (JPN).

In addition, a number of exciting activities and attractive prizes have been lined up for the event, including a RM30,000 cash rebates for lucky house buyers (terms and conditions naturally apply).

Visitors to the event will can also benefit from expert advice from renowned industry experts during Property Talks segments which will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
