University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) has tied up with Eco World Development Group Bhd to provide student accommodation for undergraduates within the 270-acre Eco Botanic township in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
The two entities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on March 24 for the provision of student accommodation via the upcoming Eco Nest service apartment project, which is due to be completed by the end of the year.
Eco World president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah that under the MoU, students will be able to move in and occupy the block as soon as it is completed.
Facilities that are available at the 35-storey apartment building include an indoor badminton court, gymnasium, swimming pool, gourmet kitchen, sky garden and WiFi connectivity.
Chang said UoRM is the first university to collaborate with a developer in Iskandar Puteri and that the project would provide “an English inspired living style” for the undergraduates
The township benefits from its proximity to the EduCity educational hub located in Iskandar Malaysia. It will also leverage on the many business and lifestyle facilities that are taking shape within Iskandar Puteri.
UoRM began operations in September 2015 and it has since attracted over 600 students.
