COMPANY STRENGTHENS FOOTHOLD IN PROPERTY ARENA WITH DIRECTORIAL APPOINTMENT OF DATUK NG SEING LIONG
Public-listed Golden Land Bhd may be an established and successful name in the plantation sector, but it is equally determined in finding similar success in the property arena, which it has recently expanded into. With an award-winning maiden project under its belt already and another exciting Klang Valley residential project poised for launch, the company looks poised to achieve exactly that.
Reinforcing its vision to be significant contributor in the development arena, Golden Land has also appointed influential industry veteran and former Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda) President Datuk Ng Seing Liong as a Non-Executive Director.
Formally appointed by Golden Land on April 25 this year, Ng is known for his strong advocacy of industry best practices during his term as Rehda president (2006-2010) as well as promotion of a healthy and vibrant property sector via his ongoing role as Chairman of the Malaysia Property Exposition (Mapex).
“Golden Land is extremely pleased to have Datuk Ng aboard and we are certain that his remarkable industry knowledge, influence and depth of experience will not only add strength to our corporate governance but provide a tremendous asset as we head towards an exciting future,” said Golden Land Chief Operating Officer Ng Heng Phai.
In addition to being the principal of Kota Klang Development Sdn Bhd, Datuk Ng is a charted accountant and a senior partner at S. L. Ng & Associates. He has more than 35 years of experience in the fields of audit, tax, business advisory, receivership and liquidation.
Additionally, Datuk Ng served as the Director of CIDB (2007 – 2016) and continues to be the Chairman of Insolvency and Corporate Solutions Committee of CAS International.
He is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants, fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK, associate member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators UK, member of Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, fellow member of Institute of Co-operative and Management Auditors Malaysia and fellow member of Chartered Institute of Taxation, Malaysia.
“The addition of Datuk Ng into the Golden Land fold reaffirms our aspiration to be a genuine property player that is keen to make a valuable contribution to the market. We are fortunate to be able to lean on his vast experience and wisdom, which will no doubt be invaluable in the years to come,” said Ng Heng Phai.
“Moving forward we hope Golden Land will continue to make a meaningful impact on our landscape, and with the right philosophy, the right approach, the right products and the right people behind us, I believe this can be achieved,” he added.
Already Golden Land has made an impact with its maiden project Golden Gateway in Batu Kawan, Penang, which took home Best Niche Industrial Award (Penang) at the Property Insight Prestigious Developers Award 2018 (PIPDA 2018) in May.
The award was in recognition of the project’s forward-thinking outlook, which pays equal attention to the pulse of current demand as well as the evolving nature of industrial businesses in the region via the provision of its 4-in-1 business solution concept.
Golden Land was Executive Director Jessica Yap said it was gratifying to receive a recognition such as this at such an early stage of the company’s property endeavours.
“The award is surprising and encouraging, but we also humbly view it as affirmation that we are on the right path with our outlook as well as our simple and honest philosophy of investing ‘Great Care’ in all we do,” said Yap.
Ng added that Golden Gateway’s 4-in-1 business solution concept addresses a flexible range of business needs, which is timely and in line with demand given the rapid modernisation and commercialisation of the area.
Serving four important purposes – Supply, Store, Show and Sell – the project accommodates production activity with column-free triple-volume space to cater to production and processing needs, as well as provides sufficient warehouse storage space for logistics and inventory requirements. Units can also accommodate showrooms with ample display space and large glass windows to ensure products are highly-visible from the exterior, while a dedicated office space creates a proper and comfortable working ambience.
In a contemporary setting of attractive streetscapes and eye-catching retail styled facades that a highly visible from the main road, 52 Semi-D industrial plots and 2 detached industrial plots occupy a strategic location surrounded by established heavy industrial factories. The project is well-positioned to be focal point for intermediary businesses that provide support commercial services and solutions.
Ng said the award comes at a fortuitous time, when Golden Land is on the cusp of announcing its second project, a high-rise residential development that will take shape in the Klang Valley, which will be unveiled soon.
“The award puts us in a good position to reinforce our message of being a caring developer to the communities we engage with and strengthens our resolve to serve the market with quality, integrity and a strong sense of purpose.
“Ultimately, this is where the true reward lies for Golden Land,” said Ng.
