LIVELY COCKTAIL PARTY AND RECORD-BREAKING MURAL ART PIECE MARKS RED BY SIROCCO’S EXCITING ENTRY INTO THE HOSPITALITY LANDSCAPE

Red may be the underlying theme colour that is present throughout Kuala Lumpur City’s newest boutique hotel, but there is a deeper meaning behind the name: Relax, Enjoy, Dream.
Although Red by Sirocco has been in operation since earlier this year (and already receiving rave reviews from popular sites such as Bookings.com and Trivago), its official launch last night was an opportunity to express the hotel’s strong philosophies on service, hospitality and culture that is provided in its unique atmosphere — and it was done so with the same vigor and passion that the colour red inspires.
Developed by M101 Group of Companies, the 4-star boutique hotel was formally introduced to the public at a fun-filled appreciation night attended by invited guests, clients and members of the media fraternity.
Celebrations kicked off with a luminous LED lion dance performance, symbolically blessing the hotel with prosperity and good luck. This was followed by an animated dance performance by “The RED Squad”, which was made up members of the hotel team as a chance showcase the creativity and fun-loving energy that makes up part of Red by Sirocco’s DNA.
“RED by Sirocco, Kuala Lumpur is the new kid on the block with the commitment to never stop providing the best hotel experience to all our guests,” said Datin Lea Chan, chief executive officer of Sirocco Hospitality Group (a member of the M101 Group of Companies).
“Here, we want to make sure that everyone has 101 reasons to stay with us, and only one reason – if at all – to leave, when it is time to check out,” she said during her official address at the opening ceremony.
Ceremoniously striking a gong to mark the official grand opening of the hotel, Chan also highlighted that Red by Sirocco also boasts a record-breaking feat along its exterior façade, and this was officially deemed the “Tallest Mural in Malaysia” by the Malaysia Book of Records during the event.
Created by artist Kenji Chai, the work of art spans the entire length of the building along the side wall. The concept depicts Malaysia as a tropical country with a Dayak lady surrounded by flora, fauna and food to represent natural and cultural beauty.
Kenji used 400 litres of paint, around 100 litres of spray paint and three gondolas for his task. Painting approximately 10 hours every day, he successfully completed this masterpiece in less than a month.
A lucky draw session at the event saw guests winning a range of prizes, including staycations at RED by Sirocco, dinner at rooftop The Rouge Club and therapeutic treatments at The Rub Bar. After official proceedings were concluded, guests were invited to continue the party at The Rouge Club, which offers a spectacular KL city skyline.
Red by Sirocco offers 143 charming and modern rooms for KL inner city holidayers and thrill seekers. It is strategically located at the heart of vibrant city, yet nestled away in the rustic heritage neighbourhood of Dang Wangi.
It appeals to travellers who seek to immerse themselves in a tapestry of multicultural influences, architectural heritage, diversity of lifestyle and eclectic cuisine. The adjacent LRT and monorail stations also ensure traffic-free access to the rest of the city.
Red by Sirocco caters to events and meetings are a breeze with 5,330sq feet of events space, including a columnless Grand Sky Ballroom and two meeting rooms. In addition to The Rouge Club and infinity pool on level 25, guests can indulge in a range of premium relaxing treatments and all-natural wellness products at The Rub Bar.
According to M101, Red by Sirocco is just the first many hospitality destinations the group has in its plans. Already in the pipeline are MONOPOLY Mansion and Planet Hollywood which will also take shape in KL city, as well as two other hotels earmarked for Indonesia.
