Mainboard-listed developer SP Setia recently took home an unprecedented 11th Gold Win from the FIABCI World Prix D’Excellence Awards 2019. The recent win also makes SP Setia the first company in history to have won three awards by the international property federation for projects located in three different continents, in a single year.

At the award ceremony, the three awards were won in different categories. It took home awards for Setia Spice, Penang in the Purpose-Built category as well as two World Silver Awards for Parque Melbourne (Residential High-Rise category) and Circus West Village at Battersea Power Station, London (Residential Mid-Rise category).

“Our latest World Gold Award marks the 11th time SP Setia is conferred such a prestigious award, and we remain the only Malaysian developer to have achieved this feat,” said President and chief executive officer of SP Setia Dato’ Khor Chap Jen.

He described the win as a “remarkable”, adding that it was only made possible with the dedication and hard work of Setia’s 2,300-strong team.

“We are thrilled and honoured that our projects are recognised and placed on par with other world-class developments. Inspired by our “Stay Together. Stay Setia” brand mantra, we have not only made a name for ourselves as the No.1 pure-play property developer in Malaysia, but now also an eminent player on the world stage,” Khor said.

In receiving the World Silver Award for Parque Melbourne, chief executive officer of Setia (Melbourne) Development Company, Datuk Choong Kai Wai, said the recognition reaffirmed the company’s foresight and strategy to expand its interests in Australia. By being recognised, the brand will undoubtedly benefit from the confidence of local buyers and foreign investors.

Choong said the company will continue to place customers expectations as a priority and reinforce its strong belief that commitment to innovation will help it meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market.

On the World Silver Award for The Circus West, Battersea Power Station, CEO of Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) Simon Murphy said: “We are truly honoured that Circus West, the first phase of the wider Battersea Power Station regeneration project, has been recognised by FIABCI as one of this year’s winner. To receive this award is a major testament to our principles of creating an exceptional place to live in.”
