Sunway Property, the property arm of Sunway Bhd, has completed Sunway Geo Residences in Sunway South Quay.
Sunway Geo Residences, part of the 23-acre Sunway GEO integrated development, comprises residences, retail space and offices with a combined gross development value (GDV) of RM2.2 billion.
Sunway Property managing director Sarena Cheah said the units are expected to be handed over to buyers in April 2017.
Sunway Geo Residences, with a GDV of RM490 million, is a 67:33 joint venture (JV) between Sunway South Quay Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sunway Bhd, and SEA Investment Four Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd.
Speaking at the roof topping ceremony early this week, Cheah said its completion is the first step in paving the way for the future of urban living. It is also a milestone for Sunway to be working with a very established Japanese developer.
She said the JV will boost the Sunway brand in the Japanese market and pave the way for potential collaborations with Mitsui Fudosan in future developments as well as leveraging on its strengths in technology and quality.
Mitsui Fudosan managing officer Osamu Obayashi, alongside Cheah, officiated the ceremony.
Sunway Geo Residences comprises 472 apartment units within two 30-storey blocks, with built-ups ranging from 829sq ft to 1,496sq ft.
The project, located within the 178-acre Sunway South Quay, achieved 100 per cent take-up rate.
“It is a testimony on how buyers are responding towards the development in Sunway South Quay, where it proves to be a beneficial long-term investment due to the connectivity, diversity of products and safety,” Cheah said.
She said homebuyers are provided with greater accessibility and connectivity between the residential and commercial precincts of Sunway South Quay and to Sunway Medical Centre.
Residents can also use Sunway City’s canopy walk to reach Sunway Pyramid, Sunway University, Monash University Malaysia, Sunway Geo and Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus.
Sunway Geo is also accessible by LRT and KTM via the elevated BRT-Sunway Line, six major highways including direct access to KESAS Highway, and Sunway City’s free shuttle bus service.
The project is surrounded by over 7 million square feet of award-winning facilities and amenities offered at Sunway City.
