HOME FEATURES ORIGINAL FURNITURE, FITTINGS AND A GIANT CUT-OUT OF THE PREZ
The childhood home of United States President Donald Trump is now listed on AirBnB for US$725 (RM3,045) a night.
According to an AFP report, the multi-million mock Tudor-style Trump family home in Queens, where the New York tycoon-turned-president lived for the first four years of his life, can accommodate up to 20 people in five bedrooms.
Targeting those who wish to savour US presidential history first-hand, a night at the property offers a close encounter with the man himself as it comes fully-fitted with a giant cut-out of “the Don” – situated ominously in the living room.
On the plus side, it also comes equipped with internet and cable TV. The listing says the authenticity of the property has been “verified” and describes it as “the perfect accommodation for a New York vacation”.
Being managed by real estate developer Michael Davis, he said the property was put on AirBnB because it should be “shared with the world”. Davis purchased the home last year, then subsequently sold it, and is now leasing it back for US$4,000 a month.
Interestingly, Davis said that there has been a lot of activity with regard to the AirBnB listing, and the listing shows several dates being blocked off, but there are strangely no reviews.
Nevertheless, those who wish to have such an experience (and they do exist) will be thrilled to know that little has changed since the Trumps’ time at the home, with much of the kitchen and furniture still in its authentic state.
Built by the president’s father Fred Trump in 1940s, the property is situated in the upmarket enclave of Jamaica Estates. The trump family lived there until they moved to a colonnaded mansion in the 1950s.
Listing pictures show photographs of the president and quotations sprinkled around the property. Trump’s best-selling book, The Art of the Deal, can be found in the house library. By the way, it is the only book that can be found in the house.
AirBnb listing authors say they have no relationship with the White House, Trump or his Manhattan-based Trump Organization.
