HE long wait for Mazda CX-3 has been well worth it for
the attractive 2WD compact crossover comes generously
well equipped.
The CX-3’s standard list, very similar to that of theMazda2,
includes automatic wipers, a sunroof, power folding side
mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and dual exhaust tail pipe. The
18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/50 R18 tyres gives the
CX-3 a distinct look.
The highlight is Mazda’s innovative Adaptive Front-
lighting (AFS) system. The AFS headlights are brighter than
halogen headlights and reduce the risk of accidents by
providing a well illuminated field of view over a greater
distance, improving the driver’s field of vision and visibility
around curves and at intersections during night driving.

Inside, the compact crossover has the MZD Connect
infotainment unit with seven-inch display and rotary control,
reverse camera, auxiliary audio and USB connectivity, a
heads-up display, drive selection switch for sport mode,
automatic air-conditioning, keyless entry with push-button
engine starter and the i-Stop idling stop system.
The powertrain is the now-familiar SkyActiv-G 2.0 petrol
engine which also serves the Mazda CX-5, Mazda3 and
Mazda6 albeit in differing tunes. For the CX-3, the 2.0-litre
SkyActiv petrol produces 154hp at 6,000rpm and 204Nm of
torque from 2,800rpm.
Bermaz Motor Trading, the Malaysian Mazda people, are
exploring the possibility of bringing in the diesel variant.
Five colours are available for the Mazda CX-3: Soul Red
Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Jet Black,Meteor Grey, and Deep
Crystal Blue.
